Cellar Secret Santa 2014!

glatt • Nov 18, 2014 4:16 pm
It was pointed out to me by PM that nobody has started a Secret Santa thread this year.

We've been doing this for 7 years in a row! :santa:

And there's still almost a month and a half to get it together this season.

Who's in?

Who wants to organize?
Clodfobble • Nov 18, 2014 5:00 pm

There are some things I do well. Organizing is not one of them. Consider this a gift from me to ALL of you.

Update:

It turns out I wasn't done shopping when the quoted post was made. I am done shopping now. I really mean it this time.

I did fill, well, not fill, but put stuff into the container-y one that night, and then again after that. I'm just about done with that one. One more grace note, then done. :)

I am wrapping them now. REALLY! Look, there on the table ----> paper, tape, scissors, gifts. See?

Once wrapped, then I can box for shipping. !!! just remembered---get giftee's address now at the computer for shipping label creation at post office.

Ok, back to work you elf you!

And in a dramatic departure from years past, I wrapped the gifts before packing them in the shipping box. I have the pics to prove it, too! I feel so *accomplished*!

Sheldonrs • Dec 16, 2014 10:53 am
The only card I say was the tag on Marvin. Is there one in the book with all the rubber gloves or is there one wrapped around the cock ring? :-) And anyone who knows me would not find this conversation strange in the least. LOL
BigV • Dec 16, 2014 10:59 am
The conversation is not strange.

But you apparently have not gotten all of your surprises yet. Your fondness for getting head is well known. Have Marvin give you his. You may have to, um, tug it a bit before it comes off.

Clodfobble • Dec 18, 2014 3:17 pm
My gift arrived! At first, I was very confused, because it just came to the house direct from the manufacturer. I order all my Christmas gifts online, so this week we've had packages arriving every day, and I was worried to receive something from a company I'd not ordered anything from. When I called them, however, they told me the name of the person who had actually placed the order, and then all became clear. :)

I am now the proud owner of a snuggly, custom-printed sweatshirt. [Insert here: classic internet promise of photos coming soon; i.e. when I get around to it.] If I'm lucky, the temperatures will finally drop low enough for me to use it sometime in January. Afternoons are still in the 70s here, which is ridiculous even for Texas.

Thank you to my secret Santa, whose identity isn't secret but whose gift is much appreciated! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Fargon!

That's a fake Coke. Just so people don't think I sent you a can of soda for a gift. It's a safe. You unscrew the top and hide your actual stash in there. Weighs 12 Oz. The other two containers are to throw people off. And the hat is to keep it all under.

I wasn't brave or foolish enough to put anything in the can, but if you're ever down this way, I'll rectify that situation. Enjoy!

If you sent yours later than his, wouldn't you expect yours to arrive later?

Worded wrong, I guess. I meant I sent my SS gift few days before I sent my friend's package off, and he got his already.
classicman • Dec 26, 2014 4:16 pm
OK, I didn't see my SS package till the 24th since I took an unexpected 2 day trip to RI for a funeral. ANYwhooooooo .... Gift was under the tree till Christmas morning. Thank you so much ClodSanta!!!! I have never seen this book before. I absolutely lurve it. ;) Best material gift of the year.
classicman • Dec 26, 2014 4:22 pm
As a bonus, Dan-ta as he is known this time of year got a little something in the mail from that "Iran Island" - lol. I think we got it straight this time. The interesting thing is that he remembered your real name. Fascinating what power emotions have on the brain. Thank you so much Limey-Santa.
The decorations went right onto the tree and he is hiding the goodies from the rest of us for his own personal consumption. :)

You're welcome! Part 2 will get there eventually, I promise.
classicman • Dec 26, 2014 9:05 pm
Part 2 ??? Already forgot about that.... Oh my. I cannot wait.
I'm gonna try to rehydrate some Honeys and some Hens this weekend with my father and see what they taste like. We have some that are 3 years old. I occasionally eat them like chips or add to soup. This should make them a little more fun.

Omygodomygodomygod

Limey! He's amazing! Made my day! Made my hole weak!

I wanna hug him, but he's too little!

The mermaid and mud skipper are perfect side kicks!
lumberjim • Dec 29, 2014 11:12 pm
I thought the mermaid was a squid at first because she was upside down.
Clodfobble • Dec 29, 2014 11:21 pm
So. Jealous.

Very cool!

I had to work on Christmas Eve, and it was dark by the time I got home. (who the hell gets their oil changed at 5:30 pm on Christmas Eve???) Anyhow, I didn't see this package as I walked up to my house until I opened the screen door! Woo hoo!!

I opened it on Christmas Day and SonofV was the photographer of record. Here are his results.

I must say, zippyt, your intelligence is unmatched. I have no interest whatsoever in discovering and expelling the mole you clearly have embedded in my organization. These are *perfect*. Thank you, thank you. After a little quality time to chill out (in the freezer), I enjoyed a Christmas Bourbon in your honor. Cheers!

A brief word as to the delay in posting these pictures. The external hard drive on which I store almost all of my pictures had a scary but thankfully non-fatal failure on Christmas Day. When I tried to launch Picasa, the organizational tool I use for the hundreds of thousands of pictures I have, my computer responded "Drive P: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" NONONONONONOnonononononononono thank you very very much. I was able to resuscitate the drive with an eask chkdsk /f, but one of the casualties was the index file for Picasa. Only this morning has Picasa returned to full functionality. The named faces part of the library took the biggest hit; I now have over 47,000 unnamed faces left to identify.

I've only just seen this and am so glad the parcel didn't get lost for too long by the assorted postal services. I tried to pack enough chocolate critters so that everyone in your family could have one! Naughty Dan!

Today I got a really Really useful gift of a wind-up torch/lantern/phone charger from the lovely Lola Bunny! We get power cuts in the winter, and it'll also be useful at our summer music camps. Thanks SO much!

oh ha, glad it made it :) The beads have been sat on my desk for several months now waiting to be strung and mailed :o I ended up having Banana Lady take the parcel and mail it when she got back to give me a deadline for getting the damn project finished. They were made just for you, there are no others like them :) (yet..... ;) )
Clodfobble • Jan 10, 2015 5:25 pm
Awesome!
limey • Jan 10, 2015 5:42 pm
I suspected banana lady's involvement as this was clearly posted in UK. Thanks again! Will turn the pic round when I get to a PC.

I have to confess that I am Buster's SS and I still haven't sent a gift. I have not forgotten you though Buster, and I have a plan to send your gift soon.

But, but, she could be the #bestsecretcupidever if she includes some topless selfies and calls it an early Valentine's Day gift.

Ahem. Search your conscience and your camera roll. Have YOU posted pics of your Secret Santa gift? If not, please do, or you're on report.

Limey has contacts who have nothing better to do, since the break up of the USSR. You do not want them coming for the pictures, you really don't. :whip:
limey • Jan 15, 2015 5:07 pm
I'll get :santa: to do a roll call tomorrow, if'n you're not careful!
