New Americans

As beest and I became American today, most of the 82 new citizens were from Iraq. That was "the only country to reach double digits" the judge told us. I guess that's one way of replacing the soldiers who won't return :/.

(Next biggest by our count was Lebanon, then Canada, then each of the remaining countries was represented by only one or two escapees)

(Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Switzerland, Russia, South Africa, Romania, Bulgaria, South Korea, Phillippines, Jamaica, United Kingdom, Surinam, Mexico, Morocco were the other countries for those who need to know)

Well if it isn't Yankee Doodle Monster and The Gringo Beest:

Did any of our 82 new Americans get accelerated citizenship through US military service that you know of?

Thanks Monster, that's an interesting list. Shortage on African countries, other than morocco, but mostly from every corner of the world.

Nothing from below Mexico.

Right, no Central or South America, I hadn't noticed that.

So now you two probably have a better education about America than we got as kids in school.

How could I have forgotten that they got their independence from the Netherlands after all that publicity! Oh yeah, '75 was the year I went into military service, I must've been distracted.

Next to nothing from below Mexico.
