So hungry ...

It's about 0100 and NOT time to eat, but I missed dinner. So it's a weight-loss day, but nevertheless I am hungry right now.

For so many years, through my teens and early adult years, I never thought about weight or food or being hungry. I was crazy skinny and never even thought about it (no eating disorder, in other words). So what's changed? Why is it hard to be hungry now?

Maybe I need to change my mindset and accept being hungry. Most of the rest of humankind lives this way. Maybe it's abnormal to feel full on a daily basis.

There are, as I am sure you alread know, some foods that keep you feeling full for longer than other foods do.

Top tip: porridge oats or wholemeal bread before bed :p

Another top tip: rather than having large meals that make you feel temporarily very full - have several smaller meals and snacks that don't 'fill' you up but take away the feeling of being hungry.

eating makes you feel sleepy. Being hungry keeps you awake. so eat something. Filling, satisfying and small. A warm milky drink would be perfect. QED. 1am is mostly not time to eat because 1am is mostly not time to be awake.
