Traveling by foot

footfootfoot • Jul 20, 2014 7:00 pm
So in a few days I am off to Cincinnati to visit my old pal, oversee/foreman his deck building and take in a few Reds games. The trip out will be a hustle because there is a game, but on the way back I should have some time to stop and smell the hops flowers. I'm thinking it will be some time around the 13th or 14th of August.

The route back is open to options. Any dwellars between here and there want to meet for food and or beer, or coffee if it's that time of day?

pm me

DC is nowhere near Ohio or NY State, but if you find yourself down this way, holler.

Cinci is about 2-3 hours away. I don't trust GC1 to go that far.

ETA: I wouldn't make very good company right now, anyway.

Taking the I-90 route?
glatt • Jul 23, 2014 4:23 pm
I guess I didn't realize where Cincinnati was. It's directly West of me. There are no major highways going directly that direction, but Route 50 does. Route 50 is less than a mile from my house, and goes right through Cincinnati. And then 95 would take him up through Dwellar land and back home.

I think I'm taking 71 or something. I have to look at a map. I know the route goes through or very near Philly. Or at least could. It would be great to meet up with the Philly peeps. Is Jim anywhere near there? What about Bruce?

it's most of us mate

I-90 will take you to Cleveland, where you'll head south and end up on I-71. Coming back, if you take the turnpike you'll brush past the north side of Pittsburgh and carry on to Philly.

I haven't been to Cinci but have been all over north- and mid-Ohio as far as Columbus.

Unfortunately, I'm not enroute but am 35 miles south of where you'll pass through Erie, PA (lived there for several years). Grab either a Starbucks or a Krispy Kreme coffee on your way through and think of me. ;)

So, are you swinging by? I'm 10 minutes from Philly.
footfootfoot • Jul 28, 2014 11:20 am
I will swing by on the return trip. some time around the 15th of August.

I'm in Cinci until the 15th. Then I head back. How far is Ann Arbor?

footfootfoot • Jul 28, 2014 10:56 pm

am running out of time...... Polo Girl is flying to CA on Weds for Junior Olympic tourney. Was hoping to make the trip (a) before she goes (hahaha) or (b) before she gets back) :/
monster • Aug 1, 2014 5:36 pm
maybe tomorrow?
footfootfoot • Aug 1, 2014 6:12 pm
Let's play it by ear. I am pouring a bunch of concrete, supposedly only a half day Saturday but with concrete I may be wiped out. What is happening mid August, around the 15th, just in case?
monster • Aug 2, 2014 3:43 pm
Does foot3 read PMs we wonder?
orthodoc • Aug 3, 2014 9:05 pm
Are you heading back by the northrun route, foot3? Stopping by soon-to-be-snowy Michigan? If so, let me know. If you're traveling I-90 again, depending on timing, there might be a chance of grabbing something to eat in the Erie area around Aug 15. You have to feed the inch and the mm at some point, right?
footfootfoot • Aug 3, 2014 10:52 pm
The inch and mm are at home and did not make the trip. I've not figured out what the return route wll be, but I'll keep you posted.
