Violent storm off Sardinia

Stefano Garau captured this stunning photograph of webs of lightning lighting up the sky during a violent storm off the island of Sardinia. Stefano took the electric photograph from the balcony of his house.

The only time I have ever seen lightning illuminate the interior of a cloud, as above, was in Scottsbluff, NE.
The storm lasted approximately an hour from about 9pm and was probably one of the most violent but spectacular meteorological sights I have ever seen.
If you've experienced damage under those circumstances, quite understandably, you wil no doubt have a very different view on the matter.
