Winterthur

Went to Winterthur today. The big buzz was a whole floor of the "Galleries" was given over to costumes from Downtown Abby.
Drew out the elderly matrons like flies to a melted Popsicle on the sidewalk. No, I didn't.

Didn't... Show them yur Popsicle ;)

Of course I went strait to the Afternoon Tea menu on the website.
Ginger Crab Tea Sanwiches on Country White? Now that alone would be worth the
Price of admission, although it all sounds good.

Not really being into clothes or Downton Abbey I'd have been happiest In the Visitor Centre, but each to their own.
Now the Doctor Who exhibition in Cardiff had me handing my money over twicet.
No Afternoon Tea Experience there, sadly. Cybermen and Daleks aren't known for their catering skills. And you do not want a Sontaran waiter, trust me.

When you're as rich as a king and live on 2600 acres with 20 farms and 300 serfs, you have to amuse yourself. The furniture collection is a wow. A complete collection of mid 1800s woodworking tools, 18 arm and side chairs with complete descriptions of style, material, who, when, where, etc.
Same for textiles, porcelain, teapots, and the Campbell's Soup Co collection of soup tureens from around the world. This is just stuff in the galleries.
