Shit, that is so appropriate for Ash Wednesday, as the Fat Tuesday revelers assume the role of pious good doobies. :haha:
Speaking of good doobies...Later taters!
Today is the day we find out what bonus we'll be getting at work.
Given that I've been awake since just after 03.00 worry inning about being on Bakery again, I can confidently tell you it's not enough.
On the one hand it's great to get some extra £ just for doing a job you get paid to do.
On the other it's gutting that most other Partners get exactly the same bonus without any of the stress that I suffer. Although I accept it's more to do with the way I handle it than the actual role (rolls)
Is that Al Murray?
It bloody is!
IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!
What Day Is It?
I like Fridays because I finish at lunchtime and
I don't work on Bakery and
I like Saturdays because I have the day off and
Can listen to Danny Baker in bed from 09.00
Which (isn't as good as watching SM:TV Live but)
Is better than listening to Wake Up To Money at 05.30.
I like Sundays because I get to whirl like a dervish
Setting up Deli in a third of the time it should really take
And working with a colleague after that
And interacting with customers.
Then I come home and cook and that makes them love me.
I like Mondays because it's only one more shift until my day off
And no bugger ever comes in
And I can properly clean the cheese counter and date check everything and play games as to how many human errors I find which we would be fined for if we were spot-checked.
And I always win
Because I'm the only one playing.
Tuesday is a bit of a sad
Day off with nothing happening.
But on Wednesday I know I can finish work and come home and watch The Valleys!
Which is rude
And banal
And mindless.
But it's set in Cardiff.
Then Thursday.
Bakery.
Challenge.
Not in a good way.
But I didn't want to cry this week so maybe things are getting better after all.
And when I leave...
When I leave
O
M
G
A whole other week before I go back on Bakery again.

Radio 4 News at 0530 tends to be a bit more measured and mercifully free of presenters laughing at one another's jokes. Something of a strain at the best of times, let alone at that hour:eek:
According to the Google Doodle it's International Women's Day. But for a few seconds I thought Google had gone local and was following the
Gay marriage ban trial in MichiganIt's Saturday and Sundae
can sleep in and catch up on the sleep
that Ortho doesn't get
and neither has to listen to
Wake Up to Money
There's another day until the Merkins lose
an hour to Edison's greed
Any day that happens
is a good day
for Sundae and me
Fan-bloody-tastic.
Pearls after swine.
No, no, no. Just a small addendum after the main event.
FTR it turned out K (who starts at 10.00) didn't come in today as his girlfriend is currently bed-ridden and they have two children under three years old. And B (who starts at 11.30 to allow coverage for breaks) was on Bakery, because V who works Bakery was in the staff dining room getting everything ready for the meeting we had tonight.
Whew.
Never knowingly overstaffed.
So instead of fun whirling! it was broken-backed slogging with rifle and pack as I tried to do as much as I could cleaning-wise, knowing B would be flying solo from 12.15-16.00 as well as giving good customer service.
I'm confident about the cleaning I signed off for.
