Sheldonrs • Feb 20, 2014 4:45 pm
I saw it on Craigslist and couldn't resist. Furniture section, not men4men! lol
BigV • Feb 20, 2014 5:05 pm

Exactly! It's all metal. I figure for $50.00 it's a good buy. :)
DanaC • Feb 20, 2014 5:21 pm
lol

I misread that and my heart skipped a beat:P

Yes. it's a good buy for $50.00

Luckily, I got my period.....in the right place. lol

(Yes, I know it's a decimal point. Period is funnier!) :D
DanaC • Feb 20, 2014 5:24 pm
I can assure you there is nothing funny about a misplaced period...

Or a Periodic table.

Spot on.

Great for when your friend comes to visit.
orthodoc • Feb 21, 2014 12:41 am
Just drape it in a red flag.
Griff • Feb 21, 2014 6:28 am
and hose it down at the end of Shark Week.

Then ride the crimson wave.

Can you tell what it was before it became your coffee table? Looks like a production line heater or cooking flame. Any tags or markings?

The previous owner told me she bought it at a crafts festival and that it was hand made by the seller.
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 26, 2014 5:02 pm
I believe that, I'm just wondering from what.
glatt • Feb 26, 2014 7:01 pm
Those legs don't make themselves. The rest you might be able to cobble together, but those legs...

The more I see this table, the more I have the extreme envy......

Right, too fancy to be industrial, too light to be commercial, possibly from a parlor stove or maybe even fireplace andirons.

I'd love to see more pictures of this beauty, like straight down and close up of the fittings around the outside.
glatt • Feb 27, 2014 10:07 am
And they are the perfect height for a coffee table! A bathtub would have legs that are far too short.
Sheldonrs • Feb 27, 2014 6:17 pm
I'll try to take some upclose, detail pics and post them.
I think the top and sides were just thick sheet metal.
Sheldonrs • Mar 2, 2014 12:59 pm
Some detail pics
Sheldonrs • Mar 2, 2014 1:00 pm
2 more pics
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 2, 2014 7:15 pm
Thanks Shel, it appears he fabricated an upside down box from sheet stock, and added the legs. Then he added various fittings/shapes/findings around the periphery to make it interesting.

Well I think it's ugly and an insult to your refined NJ culture, so you should ship it to me immediately to save yourself embarrassment. :yesnod:

OK. Send me the $5,000.00 shipping fee and it will be on it's way!
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 2, 2014 7:26 pm
Oh, you're such a reasonable man. :haha:
Sheldonrs • Mar 2, 2014 8:44 pm
True.

Looks somewhat steam punk. Just the sort of thing I'd expect to see from the furniture design program at my alma mater.
