January 25, 2014 - See Thru Sea Creature

[SIZE="3"]This Salpa maggiore was found swimming on the surface of the water north of New Zealand where a fisherman noticed it and caught it out of curiosity.

It felt scaly, firm and jelly-like and was completely see through. The only thing that could be seen was the orange blob.

Turns out the creature is barrel-shaped and moves by pumping water through its body. The Salpas life cycle involves alternating generations of solitary existence and living as a group forming long chains.[/SIZE]

looks like a squid jellyfish.

does it have the same predators as regular jellyfish?

The real question is what are Swedish Fish doing so far south of Stockholm?

Wasn't Sal "Pa" Maggiore an enforcer for the Gambino Family?
For an invertebrate, that guy sure looks bony.
