We haven't had a Spencer Tunick-related IotD for a long time. This isn't a "real" Tunick but a campaign to get the guy interested in coming to Hastings for a project.
Up to 30 residents took part in a nude flash mob in wet and windy conditions on Hastings beach to attract an acclaimed photographer to the town.
The exhibitionists hope to convince American body artist Spencer Tunick to stage one of his mass nude photoshoots at the East Sussex seaside resort.
Hastings, Folkestone and Brighton are fighting for the chance to host the event as part of an arts festival.
Participants held placards urging the public to "Vote Hastings".
Hannah Corke, 25, said: "I thought it was really funny."
"It hasn't been done before. I gave birth five months ago and it's quite liberating to get naked in front of lots of people and get rid of that post-pregnancy fear."
linkNope, not your eyes.
Twas your imagination, that killed the beast. :haha:
I think they look glorious.
Why are nudists almost always people you don't want to see naked?
Well, millions of years of evolution ensured that we are instinctively attracted to people who are healthy and in a good position to survive procreation, but nudists sway to an older group who doesn't give a shit what you or anybody else thinks.
I'm happy to see anyone naked.
Maybe it's because I'm the unnatural sort who doesn't want to procreate.
Besides that, exposure to the elements means that even if they started out as people you wanted to see nude, they won't be that way for long. Nevermind the sunburn, it's when they start losing body parts to frostbite that you'll really be turned off...
A day late, I wanted to recommend a title change to
Great Balls of Ice on Hastings Beach
I always think it's a little ironic that a guy who likes photographing nude people should have an item of clothing for a surname ...
Growing up there was an old couple who lived around the corner and were into nudity colonies and all that. At home, when they had the door open, they sat in their skivvies. Well, she in her slip.
I don't get it. Why is being nude such a big deal? I mean, why do all these people want to hang out nude?
I would have a seriously hard time not staring and looking at each body head to toe.
And I guess I don't see our bodies as defining who we are, but then our body is a canvass and how we dress (or not) does say something about us. So what does wearing nothing say about somebody?
