Movie mash-ups

I was just reading the thread where Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen were standing with Elmo. Instead of referring to them as Xavier and Charles from Xmen, digr said Picard and Gandolf.

I thought, that would be cool. To see a movie where Star Trek meets the Lord of the Rings. I'd like to see how a good producer would interlace the story lines and make it believable.

One does not simply beam into Mordor.

Aliens vs predator was interesting, but they are both scifi space monsters. ... Cowboys vs aliens was really good, but there were no pre established story lines to respect.

Back to the future meets clan of the cave bear?

Cool. Some things would meld together easily, though they are very different. Others, though.... like Transformers and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly might prove to be dicey.
