This frightened me when I saw them almost right outside my door. There are several . I guess they are 'ginormous' puff ball mushrooms! All I could think of was "Invasion of the Body Snatchers!" :eek:
The next one is a bit past it's expiration date and might be even bigger than the first one! Notice the split down the middle! I think my husband has been acting strange .... ;)

The white one is fine to eat {yeck} but the decomposing one ....not so much :)

I'd never trust anyone unless I bought from someplace I could sue or from somone whose Certification of Knowing Mushrooms card I'd seen. I'm sure they exist. I was once at a party and met a real Official Inspector of Breastswith a card and everything. Weird because when my six foot boyfriend appeared he remembered another appointment...
Seems to have been a bonza year for the shrooms over here as well. I see various types everywhere on the way to work, gardens, trees, the park. Not bizarre locations, like my cat's head, but places I've not seen them in previous years.
