August 6, 2013: Baby panda born at Taipei Zoo

This is bigger news because the babbeh was borned of pandas gifted to Taiwan from China.

Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan were given to Taiwan by China in December 2008 and have become both star attractions at Taipei Zoo.

The island nation will be allowed to keep the cub as the panda couple were a gift from China rather than a loan, Taipei officials have said.

Beijing usually only loans its pandas and any progeny must be sent back to China.

China's decision to give Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan to Taiwan was a symbolic gesture to show warming ties between Taiwan and China.

It shows China is planning on taking back the island anyway. :haha:

Yeah? Well it's gotta be the first 'cute' Panda I've ever seen.:p:

Too bad he's born into such a dead-end loser species.:sniff:

Dirty boy.

Anyway, I suspect it is a kitten, rolled in the dust under the bed.
Note how there is no size comparison.
In the first photo he is sniffing the air for catnip. Poor faux-panda-kittens born already addicted :(
