Network Solutions hacked causing downtime

We were briefly affected by this. One of my client's sites, which is also a netsol account, was down for two hours this morning.

I don't understand. Network solutions is a separate web site. They don't host the Cellar. Why would an attack on them hurt the Cellar, or any other site, just because you have done business with them in the past to register the domain?

They don't host the Cellar, they are the domain registrar. They run the servers that convert "cellar.org" to 207.245.110.178 and "database.cellar.org" to 207.245.110.180.
