End of Things

breathe in, breathe out
stretch, exult
end of day
rub caress luxuriate
what is this
something - what?
hard alien wrong

what?
you know

darkness smiles
it comes to us all

sweet air
fragrance
birds cry to heaven
all is well

rub caress
what?

oh my that’s big
i’d be so scared if i were you
thanks i feel so much better

pink wallpaper pink gowns pink pink pink
please i hate pink
never mind there’s a problem
komen never anticipated

heart-shaped mass big
cystic? no
benign? no
but it’s heart-shaped

does love kill? sometimes

biopsy today now come this way
but wait i’m alone
want it done or no
yes please no please
please please no

stabbed stabbed stabbed stabbed stabbed stabbed done
too much bleeding do you have a problem
no i’m just dying on the inside
stabbed through the heart
my heart
my enemy

no one to call no one no one
wait wait wait
ring ring ring it’s cancer
CANCER CANCER CANCER
heart-shaped cancer hooray
i knew you didn’t have to tell me
why, why did you have to tell me

i have cancer cancer cancer
breathe in breathe out

end of things

This one gave me a shiver down my spine.

I got shivers too, and it wasn't Dana's post that suggested that word to me.

uhhhh....

Well ... thank you. I haven't written anything for awhile and I've never put any poems out there for people to read. I appreciate the feedback.

You're very talented.

Agreed. I hope you'll share more, ortho. These are beautiful.
