Meet Ashley. She was caught in brushfires in a nature reserve in Canberra, and was found a week later, clinging to the top of a tree. She was the only one to survive.

Now what I need to know is whether she was named before or after the incident.

Is this what they mean by a 'warm fuzzy'?

I feel really sorry for this Koala, I've been burned before it's not fun. <br>
That and the smell of burnt hair must be incredibly anoying.

Amazingly, as 100 year old Eucalyptus forests burned nearby, the citizens of Canberra reported that their sinuses had never been clearer.

Don't think it would have been named before, we've got an oversupply of those things, don't really ahve time to name them all. Kangeroo island exports them (ironic i know).

Koalas are apparently perpetually stoned from eating nothing but eucalyptus leaves; perhaps Ashley was simply too gorked to work up a good run and get the hell away from the fires...

Poor little crispy critter. Looks like she's being taken good care of, though. Getting a spoonful of cream of eucalyptus, there, I guess?

You know, there is a band name in here somewhere...
