[SIZE="2"]The reason you are seeing lions today is because last night, on my local news station, they showed a restaurant serving skewers of lion meat. Three chunks of the meat, approx. 6 ounces, was going for $70 per skewer! :eek:

White lions are just a color variations, and not a sub-species.

"Beautiful" white lions, like all white colored animals in non-arctic regions, are VERY unfortunate - almost a sure death sentence, since they are so much more easily seen, day or night, and prized for their fur/hide and sometimes, their organs as well.
