The crazy Waco, Branch Davidian, David Koresh standoff began.

I'm feeling a little old. Twenty years?!

They never did find any assault weapons in the ruins of that building.

I'm not interesting in getting into an argument, but Wikipedia says:

Sounds like there were a lot of weapons in there, including many fully automatic machine guns.

My, how time flies when you're waiting for the apocalypse! I don't believe there was ever much question that the Branch Dravidians were heavily armed and all set to "throw down with violence the great City of Babylon."

The show down with those religous nuts who insisted on including their own children in their little war was also the precursor to the horrific Oklahoma City bombing where all those poor kids in the daycare center located in the Federal Building were killed.

Twenty years later and things have scarcely improved with the deaths of those 20 babies in Newtown. How long must this slaughter of the innocents at the altar of the Second Amendment continue? :(

You remember how they tried to crush the Waco Whackos' spirit by playing Achey Breaky Heart at them at full volume for days without end?

Someone should be charged with war crimes over that.

During my recent trip to Oklahoma City, I visited the memorial site of the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. I was moved to tears, what a fucking pointless tragedy.

I was driving to work on the Interstate between Colorado Springs and Denver when news of the Oklahoma City bombing came on my car radio. I had to pull off at the nearest exit and just cry - especially for those poor little kids.
