Autumn had a heart shaped brown spot on her right side...I told my sister she had "a little heart on" and she laughed and laughed.

It being our Friday cookup I was half expecting a real heart.

I really don't like eating beef. I have had moose and buffalo and can tolerate those a bit better. Deer heart might actually go down okay.

My grandma loved when I was little and she'd make me beef heart. I had no idea what it was; I didn't know from organs. All I know is everyone found it amusing that picky me would eat beef heart.

Really, the only thing I knew about heart was the valentiney heart. I guess I just thought it was a cute name.

We used to eat heart.
I don't remember particularly disliking it, but I remember feeling uneasy that it was held together with string.

I've seen Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall do some nice offal dishes. He didn't use any string.
I seem to remember him cooking heart and tongue for a Valentines Day special menu one year. Which really made me laugh.

Most commercial hamburger patties are part heart because it adds a nice flavor.

And tongue is delicious and tender as a lunch meat. I don't see it here in Chicago. But I used to get it in STL years ago.

We never had tongue because Mum doesn't like it.
Like watercress, it was on the Sunday tea table every week when she was a child as Grandad did like it and he was the wage earner.

I am going to stop eating meat. I mean it. this whole thing is disgusting and now I hear Burger King put horsemeat in it's burgers.

even at a reputable store you don't know what you're getting.
My ex hubby has it right---he raises and slaughters his own cattle (not that I could do that) so he KNOWS what he's getting.
