Beest and i both remember videos we saw at school about the obvious and less obvious dangers of tooth decay and gum disease that scared the shit out of us. we need one of these for one of the offspring, but I'm coming up short on youtube. Anyone have a link to a good one? pref with reasonably graphic images.

thanks

Can you just find some Meth Mouth vids and hide the titles?

I'll email my friends who are dentists and ask them if they know of anything.

We didnt get those kind of videos. We got fun little pills that stained our teeth so we could see where we still needed to brush.

And I think I remember a few floride treatments, too.

I remember those! I never had scary dental health videos, though. Just the hilarious 'secret video' for girls in Grade 5 that talked about 'your changing body'. I recall the boys all desperately trying to figure out a way to see it. Funny, the girls never had a reciprocal interest in the boys' video.

this was back in the days when they really liked to scare kids, i remember about all the horrible deaths you could die from bacterie entering your bloodstream from your gums because you didn't brush properly and they were weak and diseased. I brush and floss so well every dentst commends me and wishes I would teach their other clients... but apparently Ican't even teach my own kid, so it must be time for the SCARY VIDEO. Beest said the one he saw was so graphic he felt nauseous and had to ho to the bathroom.

Here's one about mouth cancer, though they only briefly reference "diet and oral hygiene" as potential risk factors in addition to the bigger ones like smoking.

Yeah, the boy's video was just about smashing stuff and doing really really stupid things. Like we needed a video for that. chyeah.

What, no 'your changing body' for boys?

I am disappoint. (Not that I ever had the chance to see it anyway. But still. Most of the girls would probably rather have watched a video about smashing stuff too, rather than a coy movie telling us not to get too hot or cold while we were menstruating. I mean, ???)

Oh, I guess we might have had a your changing body film. Or maybe it was a filmstrip/slideshow.

That was also covered in the Boy Scout Manual. "You should feel really badly about having an erection because you know you will just abuse yourself and then god will kill a kitten, not to mention that you will go blind and or insane.

You can always count on the Boy Scouts. Doubtless they laced the food with saltpeter at camp.

The Girl Guides, on the other hand, never told us not to abuse ourselves; they delicately avoided the subject entirely. Maybe we were presumed to be incapable of such a thing, (similar to sweating, which was considered unsuitable for young ladies).
