Photographer Stan Shuttleworth loved to photograph ladies with long hair. He created some very dramatic and beautiful images.

I find it very interesting that I have only seen one light-haired model with long hair. It is also interesting to me that all of the long hair is wavy. No Asians or Native ladies in the bunch.

The waviness was, at least in some cases, due to being kept in braids. The blonde woman's hair was braided; notice how straight it is until half-way down her head, then waves consistent with braids abruptly begin. When my hair was long and I unbraided it, it looked exactly like that (the waves, not the length!).

But, wow.

In my crone-hood I want to grow my hair out long enough to braid it and wrap it around my head like a German hausfrau.

Then I'll entice little children into my candy cottage! Yummeh!

My mom worked with a Pentecostal woman who never once in her life cut her hair and she used to get massive headaches from all that weight on top of her head.

Dear long-hair models,

These are the most beautiful photos we've ever seen.

I went to high school with two sisters who never cut their hair or tied it up, both had to pick it up and coil it around, then place it in their laps before they sat down. Otherwise, it would drag on the floor and get stepped all over.

My own hair was past my butt (to my fingertips) when I got tired of it and chopped it all off like a boy's. My mom was furious! Although I never wanted it that long again, I have sometimes wished I could get it at least waist length.

I guess hair isn't that big a deal to me.

Well, yes, an arrestingly beautiful face with amazing bone structure can stand alone, for the vanishingly small number of women who have them ...

Is the woman on the right Persis Khambatta?

Yes.

I haven't cut my hair in over 15 years. It only goes to my mid-back.

Mine is Sinead length.
