End of Tour Officer Brad Fox, Plymouth Township Police Department

Officer Brad Fox, Plymouth Township Police Department was killed in the line of duty on 9/13/12. He leaves behind a young daughter, and a wife, who is pregnant.

He was killed in pursuit of a hit and run suspect, who shot the officer and his K-9 partner. The suspect is also dead, but no details have been released regarding that. The dog is injured, but survived.

I have dealt with a number of police Line of Duty deaths, but our more "usual" is traffic accidents ... the last two LODDs were a rollover accident and a crash after hitting a deer.

The last time an officer was shot and killed in this county was in 1992 ... Officer Thomas Barone, in Norristown.

He survived two tours in Iraq as a Marine.

According to the press conference yesterday evening, today is his birthday.

To survive Iraq for this is tragic.

Dammit. Sorry to hear this, wolf. Did you know him personally?

Damn.

Dude's wife is expecting.

I used to live 3000 feet from where it happened. You'd say it's another Norristown-related fatality but the car involved was an SUV. WTF SUV.

I had met him. I've had dealings with most of the police officers in this area.

Interesting moment last night ... I had gotten to the police station, but parked in the wrong lot ... I was told to "park around the back." What I didn't know was that there were two back parking lots. So, I parked, got out of my car, made sure my badge and ID were in place ... which was a good thing, because before I was out of the car, I was surrounded by the Sheriff's, who were at the station to provide security. After I explained why I was there, I got escorted to the correct door.

The DA's office and other agencies are still investigating the incident.

Bullets are awesome. Fuck crazy shithead murder suspects.

The service was beautiful, as such things go.

I ended up outdoors, with the jumbotron. I saw a lot of people that I knew, hugged a lot of guys in bullet proof vests, and saw some cow orkers from the old nuthouse. None of them were my boss, so that went well, actually.

I had to go to work, so I wasn't part of the funeral procession.

But I am in at least one of the news videos. I haven't checked them all yet. Actually, I haven't even watched this one ... someone sent the link to me and says I'm at around 2:40. Briefly.
