Organisers are hoping to raise over £2,000 for the mental health charity MIND.

That's what they need... funds for a self-help group.

Registration costs £10 with the costs going towards insurance.
I wonder if that policy covers shrinkage?

I'd totally be up for it if I still lived up that way -love the sea, love the scenery

What's the water temp in the North Sea? lol

I think they should hold the event in tropical waters. Much less shrinkage embarrassment.

I don't remember any sea off the coast of Britain being anything other than COLD. And I've experienced this across the British Isles.
Excepting the Scilly Isles (approx 30 miles out) which is in a different current and although not exactly balmy, it's possible to paddle in without turning blue. And the waters are crystal clear. But it was still nicer to look at than swim in.

First time I was in the sea past my shoulders was when I went to Cuba.
I had no idea the sea could be a welcoming place.

Merkins come from hardy stock all over the world (well, you got there for a start) but surely the hardiest come from the North East of England.

PS. Bruce - we're actually having an Indian summer, that's not a bad temp!

That looks like fun!! I bet with my fur, I would stay nice & warm and I sure wouldn't be embarassed since everything is covered now. Sigh......I have got to break out the industrial clippers

It's not exactly bath water though, 58 will make for hard nipples. :ggw:
This time of year, early September, is usually the warmest the ocean gets over here on the Atlantic coast, as the cumulative summer heating has maxed and will soon head back down.

Even if I were naked, I wouldn't be skinny dipping.

Every time I see this, I think it's a food post - lol
