What's more depressing?

The Tuesday after Labor Day, or Jan 2nd?

or is it the day after Christmas, or the day after the Super Bowl?

jan 2.

I think it's supposed to be proven that jan 27th is THE most depressing day of the year but a lot of suicides happen in March...maybe they hang on as long as they can - which is sometime in March -- then do it.

eta: we could do a poll: which day is more depressing and do you want to die or be killed?

edited to add ETA: I want to be killed the way Butterface was killed on Shameless on Jan. 27th. But we're all gonna be dead by Dec 21st anyway so who gives a fuckk?

At least I hope I'm dead by then. I"ve based my whole financial future on that.

The Tuesday after Labor day is the first day of school here, so it's an exciting time. Combing the hair, new clothes, pictures taken, etc.

As we don't have Labor [sic] Day here I have to settle for 2nd January, given the options.

For me, the most depressing day is the first day of the school holidays.
I'm not at my best in the summer anyway, without adding the pain of having nothing to do.

The first day back from vacation, so it varies for me. I am the only person in my department, so nothing gets done while I'm away. When I get back from vacation, there's a whole pile of shit and a bowl of fuck that I have to wade through.

the main impact for me is traffic. holy shit what a difference.

and back to wearing ties. although this year we got an extension until the 17th for polo shirts.

still it's been raining for 3 days, and i'm not diggin the pile of work i have to do, and my back is sore, and and and.

blech.

You're right. This morning wasn't that bad, though.

I judge the traffic by how long I have to wait before I can walk cross George Mason Blvd. It's 5 lanes wide, and I cross at an intersection where there is no signal. Traffic was about twice as bad this morning as on Friday morning.

For a man who can get sidewalks built in city parks,
a traffic signal should be no problem
... and would make your stroll to work a lot safer.

Yeah, I could write a book about it. But the bottom line is it's mostly safe.

January 2nd... because after all they hype of the "holiday season" and loving thy neighbor and sparkly decorations and kumbayah (sp?)... it's all back to business as usual and hating everyone's face for another year.

Doesn't count for me, as I'm off the whole time traffic is clear. As in, I'm not crossing the same roads at the same time, so I don't see the difference.

Tomorrow will be interesting - my school is still out, as is my nephew's (in the same direction) but many Aylesbury schools are back in. Time to see who generates the traffic, baby.

Superbowl Monday

The day after payday.

The day after birthday?
SamIam • Sep 4, 2012 10:08 pm
That too.

I find the middle day between paydays the most depressing... not enough left from paycheck #1, but too far away from paycheck #2.

Not getting enough attention. That's depressing. Tip to newbies: Always make sure you ask lots of questions about who the mods are but never let on that you actually read the replies. Insulting mods while pretending to not know who they are is always a good way to show off your charm.
