Yep you guessed it. This a pen drawing NOT a photograph.
Mr. Silva, 29, does these pictures using only ball point pens. He creates intermediate colors by hatching the colors available.
Check out his other nice works at:

Mind boggling. Preparing tiger is always difficult what with the heavy lifting and the vengeful mate stalking your dinner guests.
Where do folks get all this talent? Some of us have none!
Beautiful!
I bet Mr Silva isn't as funny as you.
check out the Wyeth family sometime.

Know why tigers are cooler than lions?
Tigers purr.
Unbelievable. Gorgeous.
Seriously, tigers purr? When, as they're ripping the meat from your bones?
I don't see what is so great about this. Just about anybody could draw it..............if they were an incredibilely gifted artist! Wonderfuful work!

Dude's extremely talented. But I don't know if "artist" is the correct word to use. He's just copying a photograph. It requires a tremendous amount of skill and patience, but I don't think it requires much of any artistic vision. He's a highly skilled craftsman, imho. (Unless he took the source photograph, because that requires vision.)
Leave it to glatt to sniff out the original...
I bet you taxed your mom hiding Christmas presents.
:)
I'd like to see him in action. Does he project the image onto a canvas and just hold ink samples next to the image to get the color right, and then trace that color? I bet it's something like that.
We need someone to overlay the original with the pen. That would prove that.
What are you all raving about? It's just a paper tiger.

How do you access the cellar? Your computer display must be a *lot* older than mine...I have video output but back in the day, we had a punchcards. They were paper.
