And the bowls of soup or gravy at the top are spilling into the dishes below them. Cross contamination! And the people who ordered that soup will be short changed.

Maybe the food was really crappy and he's taking it all back to the kitchen.
When I'd clear tables at the bar, on a crazy busy night with bottles and glasses piling to high heaven, I'd have a beer bottle on each finger, some glasses or beer bottles tucked under my arms, and I could usually get one more mug with my bottled fingers.
