[SIZE="1"]Auroras are produced when charged particles from the sun strike atoms in Earth's atmosphere, and the colors depend on which types of atoms get hit. Oxygen usually generates green lights, but lower energy oxygen collisions or nitrogen atoms can create red glows. --National Geographic[/SIZE]

I saw the aurora once from a plane flying over the pole. One of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Seeing the aurora, that is.

Seeing it from the space station would be $%&#ing awesome, but that's quite unlikely.
