Oh bloody hell, that takes me back!

Funny though. Even though it's obvioualy old, it still has quite a modern feel to it to me.
John Sellers • Aug 9, 2012 6:54 pm
Meh.

Anyway, I'll post another one tomorrow.

Happy Monkey • Aug 11, 2012 2:15 pm
And 7 minutes of Babylon 5 intros...

Nine minutes of Trek...

John Sellers • Aug 11, 2012 6:51 pm
ok HM, your Post of the DW intros is pretty good, but IMO, Craig's is better becuz he found a way to transition from one intro to the other. The one you posted is just a collection of intros.

As for your B5 and Trek posts...nice.

I know, I'm a hopeless pedant, but I'm not sure that anything fitting my understanding of the word 'gargoyle' appears in that clip.
DanaC • Aug 11, 2012 7:38 pm
Well, it has wings :p

Ok, what do you think a gargoyle represents?
DanaC • Aug 11, 2012 8:58 pm
It's not so much what it represents as what it is.
Rhianne • Aug 11, 2012 9:11 pm
A gargoyle is a water spout. If it doesn't have a little gravity chute for water then it's a grotesque, not a gargoyle.
John Sellers • Aug 11, 2012 11:09 pm
And what do you think it is? I believe I know what you think it is, but I wanna know what you think it is.

Agreed. But an extra minute's an extra minute of Who!

Sends a shiver as it would herald another awesome episode.

The graphics changed with succeeding series

I also totally associate the universal opening sequence with the show now and experience a moment of confusion and disappointment when BSG doesn't follow it.

You missed the whole point. The show was loosely based on the symbolism, not the statue itself. The idea is that these mythological creatures warded off evil.

Beest,I see your 2004 BSG intro, and raise you:

Honestly John, I wasn't aiming at the whole point, or any point at all in fact, I was only exercising my pedantry gland as I'm prone to do from time to time. I did say so right at the start. Sorry.
Undertoad • Aug 12, 2012 3:11 pm
I'll favor the first two Trek openings, but the opening for "Enterprise" was so bad it helped kill the franchise on TV.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Rhi.
This made me laugh so hard.

Well see, I wasn't sure what that was, but I just now looked it up.

I know the real-world aspects of gargoyles as well as well as the mythological aspects of gargoyles tho. Why? Cuz I not only look things up, but I asked a practical expert on all things mythological...who just happens to be my mom.

Yep. I've been nibbling at Enterprise on Netflix (and taking some heat for it) but have to ff through the intro. Terrible terrible stuff after the others in the franchise had been so good.

Didn't find a real Rockford Files intro. That and Hawaii 50 were nice bitd.

"Enterprise" the series got better and started to show promise. They should have changed the intro music and given it another year. TNG had a huge quality improvement in its third season.

Actually, I like most kinds of humor; I just don't see what you found so funny about the little back-n-forth 'tween Rhi and me.
