SoundCloud now supported

I've put up a SoundCloud custom bbcode and edit button, so you can now embed audio here.

[SOUNDCLOUD]http://soundcloud.com/thethreestooges/trying-to-think[/SOUNDCLOUD]

You just enter the URL of your SoundCloud track, highlight it, and hit the soundcloud button, which is the new orange button on the upper right. Or you can just manually put the [ soundcloud ] and [ /soundcloud ] tags on either side of your URL.

we could respond to people with voice comments

we could have a whole thread of voice

I have a question.

In other threads, with other http links, clicking on the link opens a new tab (in firefox at least). In this thread, the http links that point to soundcloud go to that location but in the existing tab. I prefer the open in a new tab behavior. Can you explain this to me please?

Apps for Android and iPhone. That's ALWAYS the way it is.

Let me just go on the record as saying Blackberry sucks. Sure, it was free for me because my firm paid for the thing, but it's virtually useless for anything fun.

not being paid to have fun, now are you?

for the record, I am not being paid to have fun either.

but I am having fun at least. :)

If you have a microphone, you can do it from the web.

Is there any chance this change somehow messed up my ability to view embedded YouTube videos?

It actually happened last night, but at first I thought it was just my phone that couldn't see them. But today I see it's my laptop too--all the YouTube videos are blank boxes with a little geometric landscapey looking icon in the top left (not a red X.) I also get this same image for all the apparent SoundCloud things up above.

Edit to add: Using Internet Explorer 8 and Windows XP, for whatever that's worth...

Must be something else on my end, then. Meh, I'll figure it out eventually.

For the record, I hate Firefox. I'm sure it would be awesome if I took the time to learn it, but I'm so lazy I'd rather stay with something bad than have to learn something better. Yes, I know it has badass plugins. Badass plugins that I'd have to learn to USE...
classicman • Jul 17, 2012 12:12 pm
I don't use any of that stuff... Just the browser.
I click on it and it opens all the time, every time. I've never been able to say that about IE.

Update: turns out the Flash plugin got hosed during a recent update (which I discovered because it kept politely letting me know it had crashed.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, and my YouTube videos came back. Hooray!
