Batman Name Generator

Gravdigr • Jun 17, 2012 3:32 pm
Works just like the Heavy Metal Band Name Generator.

Mine's 'Batman'.

What's your Batman name?

I knew that already.

No it's not. No matter what letters you choose, your name's always gonna be "Batman". Absolutely NO thought was put into this. Some better name generators would be the ones at, for example, Rum & Monkey, or the Vampire Name Generator at Emmadavies.net. My vampire name is Uriel Beau Pre, a.k.a Thanatos of The Steely Moon, child of the Moon Goddess - Cold, determined, but of the light in the night.

Are you total cereal? I don't think any of us figured that out at ALL. We especially didn't figure it out and think it was funny because "No matter what letters you choose, your name's always gonna be 'Batman'."

:facepalm:
Rhianne • Jun 19, 2012 6:23 pm
Well it does seem rather obvious, but a more important question has to be asked. If we're all called 'Batman' how will we know which us has to go in for dinner when our Mums call us?

Hello, my name is John R. Sellers, and I like silly, funny, intelligent, and dirty jokes...but not stupid and unintelligent jokes.
Gravdigr • Jun 19, 2012 7:10 pm
Then STFU and go away.

That is not a joke.

Usually, I would. This time, not so much.

That is not a joke.

Then what is it:

My vampire name is Marion. Huh. I think I'll stick with Batman.

I remember a lot of laughing at you but little laughing with you. You're a goddamn brain trust, Draxalyss.

It was a request for you to STFU, and go away.

"STFU":

'S' = Shut
'T' = The
'F' = Fuck
'U' = Up

"Go away":

As in 'Sayonara'
As in 'So long Sammy, see ya in Miami'
As in 'Buh-bye'
As in 'Take a flying leap'

I'd give you more examples, but, you seem like the easily-confused type.
John Sellers • Jun 20, 2012 5:49 pm
Sorry to disappoint, but I think I'll stick around for a while. ;) Of course,I never really left in the first place...technically speaking.

A Sellars walked into the Cellar.

Why the long face, asked the bartender?

Oh he came with the suit, said the parrot, as the skeleton mopped up his drink.

Kind of a nonsensical conglomerate of bar jokes. But funny, right? ;)

I like this one. Nice wordplay on my family name. :rolleyes:
infinite monkey • Jun 21, 2012 4:42 pm
It was really one joke except for the last sentence.

And now I'm realizing my callous error. I didn't mean it that way, man. I was just conglomerating bar jokes.

Dude, you are way too serious. Makes me want to ask.....wait for it...........why so serious?

That is humor, you may recognize that.

It's not a question of seriousness. It's a question of putting some thought into one's humor.
Clodfobble • Jun 25, 2012 11:51 am
John, it is one of the unwritten rules of social behavior that, when a joke is not funny to you, you simply don't say anything. You just move on, because an argument over whether something is funny is definitely not funny either.

Incidentally, the reason many people would find the Batman list to be funny is because it is unexpected: you expect that a name generator like that will be full of creative variations, like name generators always are. By making the results all "Batman," the list maker is 1.) surprising the reader with something unexpected, and 2.) implying that Batman is so cool, no other variation could possibly be better.

When I saw this thread title, I noticed that it wasn't a Batman villain name generator, and wondered if it would always come out Batman.

True, does exactly what it says on the tin.
