What do you give someone with Landau-Kleffner Syndrome for their 21st birthday? I decided on money. Hopefully his father uses it wisely.

Why are you asking if you already decided?

Okay, so you want to give money to someone with expressive aphasia, who wouldn't be able to tell anyone what he wanted to spend money on ...

How's about something that would encourage expression.

Or a lap dance.

Good for you Spexx. As one who is closer to most than this, I think money is a good idea. That way her guardians/parents can decide for/with her how best to use it.

My Mom has expressive aphasia. I get her what I want to get her for gifts. Stuff I think she'd like. She able to enjoy it, and honestly, part of the joy of giving is in the giving. I give what I like to give. To me it shows my recipient I've been thinking about them. And I have given money before, but it only when I thought money was the best gift. That's sometimes the case, but rarely.

I'm not familiar with the syndrome you mentioned, but I do know that if I'm close enough to someone to give them a present, they deserve my attention as well as my stuff.
