Happy Friday! This is a baby panda bear at a panda research center in China.

It's a rare thing, this baby, because China says only 12 such babies were born in the entire country in 2002. They are notoriously hard to breed. There are only 110 pandas living in captivity and only about 1000 in the wild.

Maybe they would do better if they weren't fed egg nog? No, that's just your basic panda milk there.

If I remember correctly I think I saw a animal planet show that said female pandas only go into heat once a year.

Now realize my wife must be a panda =;^) LOL

But seriously folks, I heard that also. What's really interesting is they've been around this long, and as soon as the human interest takes hold, now all of a sudden it's hard to get them to mate. Another fine example of (what I have to tell one of my co-workers on a dayly basis) just leave sh#t alone!
