I just finished a 7-day marathon rewatch of The Wire. I am thus even more enthralled with how perfect a series The Wire is. I legitimately believe that The Wire is the best (not quite my favorite, but the "objective" "best") show ever made. I really, really appreciate David Simon's hyper-realistic, focus-on-accuracy style.
Do you feel like you actually know all those people? Like you are one of them? Like it's your neighborhood?
I felt like that after watching the series.
I was bummed when Omar got killed. He was my favorite.

I just read the wikipedia entry on Omar, and according to wiki, Obama's favorite show is the Wire, and his favorite character was Omar. But he was quick to add in answering that question that he doesn't approve of Omar.
I tried to get into The Wire, both on my own and with the encouragement of a friend. It didn't stick.
What's your favorite?
Prolly Doctor Who or League of Gentlemen.
EDIT: or maybe the X-Files.
I liked the school-focused season the best. I have been told I am not in the majority on this, but there it is.
I loved the first season. Then I really didn't get along with the second. Was kind of jarring, and I think I only managed two episodes.

X-Files was great. So was Star Trek, Next Gen
