Speaking of Boomerangs...

I just remembered my dad used to have a boomerang made in the 50s or 60s from Australia and it was signed by some famous boomerang thrower. I don't remember the guy's name. We called him Dad, though.

Seriously, do any of you Aussies know who might have flogged 'rangs in the 60s? It was heavy as hell, really hard wood, painted dark rust/brick red with some sort of design on it. a bird or a lizard or some such.

I don't remember what happened to it.

There have always been heaps of places to buy boomerangs from foot. I think it'd be pretty hard to find out where the one you had came from, but if you really want one, I can send one to you.

I don't know if this link will be of any use to you, but maybe.

Thanks Ali, I was more interested in the boomerang thrower's name. He was some sort of champion in the 50s or 60s

Could it have been this guy?
footfootfoot • Jan 21, 2012 11:14 pm
No, would have been 10 or 20 years before him. The guy's name is on the tip of my tongue...
