The town of Ronda in Malaga, Spain dates back to Neolithic times. The town of over thirty thousand people is built either side of a dizzying ravine. There are three bridges which span the gap between the sides. First there is the Puente Romano or Roman Bridge. There is the Puente Viejo or Old Bridge, and then comes the Puente Nuevo (New Bridge – which is the name it was given when it was completed in 1793).

Comment from Kuriositas user Herman Van Roey:
I visited this tiny town a few years ago... Amazing to walk over the bridge and look into the deep! I don't think it 's visible on the photo's but there is a pathway all the way down from the city to the bottom of the crevice; marvelous stroll (and hard to go back up, lol)

I bet they used to empty bedpans out the windows back in the day, and I bet every guy there has tried peeing out the window at least once.

An example of why the kids are so well behaved:

"KIDS! I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU!! GO OUT AND PLAY IN THE BACK YARD!!!!

Be careful going out the back door, that first step is a doozy.

That's supposed to be the place Hemingway had in mind when he wrote For Whom the Bell Tolls (where sympathisers are pitched over the side). He certainly spent time there.

Then again, give the Spaniards a high enough place and they itch to throw something off of it...
