Zavier Geale and his parents. He is the first baby born in 2012.
Zavier, who arrived nine days early weighing 3.09 kilograms, was born at 12.08am at North Shore Private Hospital, just four minutes before another baby boy who arrived at 12.12am at Manly District Hospital.

And I think most babies look pretty much the same. That one's cute, though. He doesn't have that giant round head thing going on. I hate giant round heads. Except for Charlie Brown.

I bet he's not really. I bet he's just the first born in a hospital in NZ. Looking at the IDL, it looks like Tonga, Samoa, and the Line Islands all might have a better shot at first baby.

It's almost certain that some kiwi kid got in first. I'm less sure about the pacific islands, they have low populations and might not have that many babies born each day.
