Trilby • Dec 31, 2011 2:54 pm
it had to be done.

MY SON IS MOVING TO HIS OWN APT.!!!!!!

I am beyond excited and happy and near half-disbelief.

We found one only 50.00 dollars beyond his price range and I said, screw it, it's worth it to keep my sanity, and I'm paying the overage.

He's moving Monday.

I think I'm going to be a new person!!!!

sooooooooooooooooooooooooglad :) :) :) :)

Hell yes, your sanity is worth way more than $50 a month. I'm happy for you, Bri!
monster • Dec 31, 2011 3:01 pm
hoorah! Good call on the $50 I say.

Now it's a new and different set of problems for you.
You can start to worry about him being on his own.
Will he come by for a visit ?
Should you go over to see how he is doing ?
What all does he need ?

But such are "normal" problems for parents, and will give a sense of progress and independence.

Best wishes for both of you and your son.
Trilby • Jan 1, 2012 1:54 pm
thanks, everyone.

It will be strange, for sure, but in a goooooood way. He's driven me half nuts.
DanaC • Jan 1, 2012 1:56 pm
Don't worry, I'm sure between us all we can finish the job he started :p

A pirate walks into a bar with ship's wheel protruding from his pants. The bartender raises an eyebrow and asks, "Do you realize there's a ship's wheel sticking out of your pants?" and the pirate replies,

"Of course. How could I not notice something as awkward and uncomfortable as a ship's wheel sticking out of my trousers? Jesus H Christ, Just give me a beer."

No problem, he'll be back to drop off and pick up his laundry. :haha:

J's son is MOVING OUT!!! YAY!!!

Over the space of four years J's son has made a remarkable transition from annoying teenage ADHD criminal to hard-working, loving father of his child. Seemingly against all odds, he located a woman who seems smart and grounded, and together they are taking off to try to make a life of it.

On the first of the month we are cooking for two again, and enjoying a pleasant atmosphere, free of retarded top-of-the-lungs white trash arguments and petty thievery of hand tools[1] and eating utensils.

[1] For various birthdays and xmasses J bought me an excellent toolbox and complete screwdriver set. Out of the set, there is one screwdriver left, because it's in my desk drawer. To an ADHD youth, a toolbox is a place to locate and permanently borrow or hide hand tools. In the unique history of my toolbox, no tool has ever been returned to it, tools have only been taken out. I am not 100% blameless in this situation but, you know.

Yay!

Good for you UT. Hoping new situation will offer you and J more peace.
Trilby • Jan 23, 2012 11:51 am
Yay for you guys!

I sleep a lot better these days and when I wake up - there's no mess, no food everywhere and no 6'6" ginger on my sofa.

It's bliss.

Awesome news, UT.

And let me just say, it is a remarkable thing J has done, to put her troubled lad down this path.

It was the arrival of the baby, now 4, that slowly changed the man-child into a man. He was struck by his responsibility, and felt motivation in order to give the child a better father than his own father had been. (The bar is set pretty low)

This is because J showed him the love and parenting that is supposed to happen. All hail J.
xoxoxoBruce • Jan 23, 2012 4:33 pm
That makes her 2 for 2.
