Is Tebow seriously the real deal?

TenderMuffin • Dec 28, 2011 3:10 pm
I totally can't figure out Tebow.

His detractors say that he's not a typical quarterback, he doesn't have the mechanics, and that the college game doesn't translate to the pros.

His supporters say that all of that doesn't matter. Wins are all that matter. And geez, he sure is winning a bunch of games, a couple of ugly showings notwithstanding.

So who's right here? Does Tebow have a future in the NFL as a quarterback?
Sundae • Dec 28, 2011 3:15 pm
I know elbow, and Strongbow and longbow.
What's a Tebow?
jimhelm • Dec 28, 2011 3:25 pm
He'll never be the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.

He's not going to last more than 4 years playing the way he does either. If he can develop into a pocket passer as he ages, he may survive longer than that. I don't see him finishing next year as the starter though. I could be wrong. It happened once before.
monster • Dec 28, 2011 3:28 pm
pocket passer sounds rude....

He was wrong once before. But I think he was mistaken.

Tebow is a total bonerjammer. Gay Canadian Olympic teapot flabbergasted ding-dong McGillicuddy particle algorithm flotsam egress fickle egg jalopy they say that the reason is the reason is the reason is.
jimhelm • Dec 28, 2011 4:31 pm
first there is a reason, then there is no reason, then there is

As much as I don't want to admit it, you are probably right.

Only if it is God's will.

He sucked for fantasy points.

He sucked what for fantasy points?
infinite monkey • Dec 30, 2011 6:33 pm
I believe that answer has been clearly outlined in the thread tag since this thread's inception.

So, um...you should know, dude. ;)
HungLikeJesus • Dec 30, 2011 6:50 pm
That made me laugh silently.
Griff • Jan 8, 2012 9:03 pm
My team made him look pretty good today. Pitt could maybe handle the injuries or the awful referees but not both. They really missed Ryan Clark and his absence gave Tebow the opportunity to get his confidence back.
classicman • Jan 8, 2012 9:22 pm
You thought the ref's were bad AGAINST P-burgh? Wow, I thought just the opposite. Dunno, I didn't really care who won. Just hope the cheaters (Pats) lose next week.

Yeh, I'm still bitter about the Eagles SB loss a few years ago.

Me too. :)
Griff • Jan 8, 2012 9:48 pm
I admit my bias, but yes among other things they ignored the helmet to helmet when Wallace was exposed and called Taylor for interference when both guys went for the ball. [insert rant about different rules for different players here] A well, spring training is right around the corner.
classicman • Jan 8, 2012 9:53 pm
lol - I hear ya.

On the other side, Did you see the replay of that great run by Pittsburgh in the 3rd
where the pundits were commenting on how great the guard was ...
the replay clearly showed hands to the face (almost taking off the tackle's helmet)
AND holding all at the same time. I lol'd. I really thought they were trying to give it to the Steelers.

Who could have predicted that finish? Tebow with a REAL nice spiral hitting the receiver in stride??? NFW.
infinite monkey • Jan 8, 2012 10:36 pm
When benny sucks, he plays up his widdle foot thing. Well, all those steely guys do that. It was a joy to watch, really. Gave me hope for mankind.
J.D.DIAMOND • Jan 8, 2012 11:29 pm
I can't belive Denver beat Pittsburgh! Tebow is gaining confidense and is only going to get better as seasons go on.

Next week he is at New England my second favorite team(Browns #1 lol I like my Browns!) and he may deliver up some magic for that one....

who knows, the Patriots are weak and its because of the defense. Tebow has a golden opp to win on the road thats for sure.

Yeah it prolly was just poor refereeing all the way around.

Clark, Hampton, and Kiesel on the sidelines with Pouncey it looks sort of inevitable in retrospect.
Spexxvet • Jan 9, 2012 1:55 pm
Tebow is a BEAST! His number is 666! He's successful because he is the Anti-Christ. He is gonna put a revelation on their asses. He's gonna kiss them like they are apocalypse! ;)

He looked bad because he wasn't competing with a young lady in a bar bathroom, trying to molest her.:mad2:
infinite monkey • Jan 9, 2012 2:04 pm
Seriously. Poser. He'll have plenty of time to drink and molest now.

My brother and I were cracking up over his different colored shoe, in case he forgot which foot to limp on. I dubbed it Ben's Boo-boo Shoe.

Yeah.

Did you see the fumbled....er incomplete pass going backwards?
Griff • Jan 9, 2012 8:26 pm
Yeah that was bad and the roughing the passer when Tebow ran up the middle and threw, getting a late two hand touch on the front of his jersey.

I totally hear you, I'm still bitter about the Stealer's SB win over the Seahawks.

NO, I don't want to talk about it.
Spexxvet • Jan 14, 2012 11:21 am
According to a recent survey by Poll Position, 43.3 percent of people believe divine intervention plays a role in Tim Tebow's success with the Denver Broncos.

That is fucked up.
Clodfobble • Jan 14, 2012 11:51 am
43.3 percent of people who are football fans, I bet. Actually that number seems kind of low, considering.
Griff • Jan 14, 2012 1:30 pm
So God gave Ryan Clark sickle cell to clear the way for Tebow? Seems disproportionate.
Clodfobble • Jan 14, 2012 1:44 pm
God just really likes the Broncos.

Wow, spectacular finish 49ers over Saints. Now NE will blowout the Broncos, kinda relaxing not watching the beat up Steelers trying to hold the Pats.
