I think my gall bladder and I

monster • Nov 20, 2011 6:17 pm
may need to part company :(

on the bright side, I guess that answers what to do with our unspent money from the flex-account......
glatt • Nov 20, 2011 6:34 pm
That sucks. I'm sorry. How are you feeling?
Aliantha • Nov 20, 2011 6:45 pm
The good news is, it's a pretty simple procedure and you'll feel so much better after it's done. :)
monster • Nov 20, 2011 6:50 pm
is kinda hurty, but I'm feeling better than 20 minutes ago. I have three friends who've said goodbye to theirs recently. It's almost an epidemic! Guess I should make an appt to see the doc tomorrow.
Trilby • Nov 20, 2011 7:03 pm
are you belching a lot???

Pain???

What?

What? Is that like ambergris?

I don't think we'll get any ambergris out of this monster.

Wait. A. Second.

First with the German, now with the French.

Are you trying to 'A Fish Named Wanda' me?

Coz if you are...
monster • Nov 20, 2011 7:25 pm
I can't belch, Bri. Srsly. But I would be if I could.

But pain in just the right place and a few other things, and it ain't the first time...... and fatty foods are usually featured in the moments before......

Je peux parlez Francais aussie. und ein bisschen Deutsch. Also, i have a British accent. Do you think I'm sexy? I won't do leather elbow patches, though.....
Trilby • Nov 20, 2011 7:28 pm
No leather elbow patches, you say? But you will do the wig?

That feeling of not being able to belch is the worst. Ugh.

I feels for ya, chicka, i really do. Your eyes ain't yella, are they?
monster • Nov 20, 2011 8:12 pm
no yellow eyes, although they've never been very white.....

I have never belched in my life. I just can't. It finds other ways to escape..... Belching seemslike it could be more fun. I'd belch lady gaga's repertoire and a little simon and Garfunkel for balance....

Pain is gone for now, TFFSM

Pardon my ignorance, but what's wrong with your gall bladder, Monster?
jimhelm • Nov 20, 2011 8:44 pm
Fuck this getting old shit, right?

jimhelm;774359 wrote:

yeah. And what's with the gallstones and being female? like we don't already have our fair share of large things being forced through small passages.....
jimhelm • Nov 20, 2011 9:26 pm
I wouldn't trade genders with you for all tea in China.

Granted, you've cornered the market in boobies...but the rest of it? God bless you. I'm going to go pee standing to up.
jimhelm • Nov 20, 2011 9:27 pm
Needless to say... I hope you get better soon, love.

Oh the Gall of that Damn Thing !!!

Be Betterer soon !!!!
Clodfobble • Nov 20, 2011 9:53 pm
Taking shots of apple cider vinegar is supposed to help. My mom avoided surgery that way. But boy howdy do they taste like shit.

My mother-in-law opted to have hers removed. It was quick and easy.

I lived through this nightmare several years back. Kept my gallbladder but it was dicey for a while. I would eat a severely low fat diet for weeks, then, um, eat a pepperoni pizza. Bad idea. Sounds crazy but if you are in the midst of a horrible attack open a can of pineapple and drink the juice right out of the can. I'm not kidding, it really works. The more acidic the better.

I'm not a medical professional nor do I play one on the internet; but I feel your pain.
footfootfoot • Nov 20, 2011 11:55 pm
I have that from time to time and I avoid rich food, alcohol, and coffee.

Salmon will make me hurl though, too rich.
monster • Nov 21, 2011 6:57 am
well it was the two bad attacks in as many days that made me think perhaps the time for denial is over. Really don't want surgery though. So far so good today, maybe I'll just mosey on over back to that river in Egypt...
Aliantha • Nov 21, 2011 6:58 am
You'll be sorry if it bursts.

Go see the doctor and find out what he/she says about it.
ZenGum • Nov 21, 2011 7:04 am
Well, both vinegar and pineapple juice would be acidic.

Most likely, you have got some gunk in your food system and it is blocking something, probably the filter, and if you put some acid through it will unblock it. The old bush remedy is half a cup of metho, but see if Beest has any of that fuel additive left first.
Trilby • Nov 21, 2011 8:17 am
Just think, though, monster - if you have surgery - you can send your painkillers to ME!

Gall bladder is supposed to be fair, fat and forty, right?
Then again, our neighbour had hers out and she was in her 50's, is dark as a Southern European and a tall angular woman.

Sorry for the pain.
Not that it was my fault in the first place.
Damn, where did I put my Cellar poppets again?
Trilby • Nov 21, 2011 11:19 am
Fair, Fat, Female, and forty.
infinite monkey • Nov 21, 2011 11:22 am
Hmmm.

I knew a woman who was fair, forty, and female. She had to have her gall bladder removed and they told her she'd gain weight (she was a tiny cute lady.) She said "oh I don't think so...watch me." But she did. This was years ago, they probably have better ways around the inevitable weight gain now.

Been there had that> don't eat the things that trigger it. It feels like someone is kicking you with a knife attached to their size 14 boot. I have had my gall bladder 30 years after my first attacks. I do not eat dairy products or fake crab stuff. I don't eat fried food much.

Common triggers for gallbladder attacks are caffeine,
chocolate, eggs, dairy products (especially ice cream) and greasy
or deep fried foods.

Fun [not really] alternative Gall Bladder flushing remedies

Eat only whole foods (un-refined foods) without fat for a whole
day.
About an hour before bedtime (on an empty stomach), drink ¼-cup
of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil mixed with ¼-cup of
freshly squeezed lemon juice. Repeat this process every 15 minutes
until a total of 1 cup each of olive oil and lemon juice is finished.

An alternative to this procedure is to replace lemon juice with
freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice. ½ cup of grapefruit juice
can be used each time. A total of 1½ to 2 cups of grapefruit
juice is required. It works well and tastes better than lemon juice.
Go to bed immediately and lie on your right side.

The next morning take 1 litre (approximately 4 cups) of warm distilled
or filtered water containing two level teaspoons of un-iodized sea salt.
Alternatively the addition of juice from half a lemon may be used
in place of the sea salt.

Eat only softly cooked vegetables and broth the second
day. The gallstones should come out some time during the second
day.

The stones that come out are usually dark
green or black in color. They may also be brown, off-white, green or,
rarely, red in color.

OR

Day 1:
Take 2 cups of 8 oz organic
apple juice or apple cider every 2 hours from 8 am to 8 pm.
Altogether 14 cups will have been taken during this period. Do not
take any other food or drinks except plain water.
Please note that the apple
juice should not be taken cold from the refrigerator. It should be
kept at room temperature or mixed with about 10% hot water before
use because cold drinks chill the liver. For people with lots of
stagnant bile, the collapsed stagnant bile may rush out after
drinking apple juice. It may feel like having diarrhea but is
actually stagnant bile (brownish yellow colour).
Day 2:

Repeat Day 1
At 8:30 pm, take ½-cup (4 oz) of olive oil (extra virgin
cold pressed) mixed with ½-cup of lemon juice (squeezed from
3 lemons) or with ¾-cup of freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice.
Go immediately to bed and sleep on your right side. If
there is a large amount of stones, nausea may be felt after
drinking olive oil but this feeling will largely disappear on the
third day after taking some food.

Day 3:

Upon rising in the morning, take 1 litre (approximately 4 cups)
of warm distilled or filtered water containing two level teaspoons
of un-iodized sea salt. Alternatively the addition of juice from half
a lemon may be used in place of the sea salt. Wait for at least half
an hour before eating.
Take vegetable broth and softly cooked vegetables only.
The stones should be passed in the stool any time between midnight
of Day 2 and morning of Day 4.

Note: The purpose of drinking apple juice is mainly for
the malic acid in apple juice. Malic acid is a good solvent for
stagnant bile in the liver. Apple juice taken during fasting would
dissolve and push out stagnant bile in the liver. For someone with
a yeast infection or diabetes, apple juice can be replaced by malic
acid in capsule or powder form. The fasting procedure is the same
except that apple juice is replaced by 1000 - 2000 mg of malic acid
taken with 2 cups of warm water.

OR
count backwards from 99
wake with minor scar on belly.

I feel for you I never had children dunno about that pain, but spastic gallbladder hurts like fuck and there is nothing to show for it..

It's a conspiracy.

It has to be.

how else could I get Cancer (the disease of toothpick-slim physiques) and be told, uh, well, sorry 'bout this, but you're going to GAIN weight as a result of treatment.

WTF?
Aliantha • Nov 21, 2011 4:34 pm
Two of my cousins had their gall bladders removed. One was not even 30 and the other was about 35.

Neither of them gained weight after and they've been so much happier since it's gone.
infinite monkey • Nov 21, 2011 4:38 pm
Just to make sure, you aren't thinking of appendixes, are you? 'Cause upthread you mentioned it not bursting and an appendix will burst but a gall bladder won't.

Just curious. ;)
Aliantha • Nov 21, 2011 4:48 pm
No, definitely gall bladder, and I'm pretty sure there is a risk of them bursting. I'm almost positive that's why they took the younger of my two cousins one out.
infinite monkey • Nov 21, 2011 4:49 pm
No, you're right. I just googled it and they can burst.

I really thought it was just a mixup of words.

Man, I'm acing being wrong lately!
Aliantha • Nov 21, 2011 4:49 pm
Yes, the interwebz says they do burst if left to their own devices for too long. You can google it for the details if you're keen. ;)
Aliantha • Nov 21, 2011 4:50 pm
Oh, I see you have. Well that's good.

Don't worry about being wrong. I happens to me all the time. It's why I had to check myself just to make sure I wasn't being an idiot once again. ;)
