Thank you veterans!

I didn't see this anywhere yet, but I've just logged in, so if this was done I'm sorry.

Thank you to our veterans. Though we all vary in our beliefs, wildly and widely, I think this is one sentiment we can all get behind.

Thank you for your service, ladies and gentlemen.

My love and thoughts to all serving and those who have previously.
And especially to families and friends of those dead or wounded in recent conflicts.

We had a lovely assembly from 10.45.
A couple of hymns then the Rev read the children some simple WWI poetry and explained about the respect and thanks due and the importance of the day.

We then observed the two minutes silence at 11.00.
The children behave beautifully, I was so proud of them.

The only question I have is whether we will observe this at Boots on Sunday.
I hope so.
I'm used to observing both - once on the 11th itself (Armistice Day) and also on Remembrance Sunday.
If not, at least I've had 2 minutes of reflection and respect.

Yikes! I forgot! In all the hub-bub of Nigel Tufnel day it completely escaped me.

Happy Veterans Day!!! I wouldn't be able to vote with out you! (well, you and the Suffragetts!)

:)

what? Veterans or Tufnel day?

They are both today.

Nope. I'm off work TODAY. So, it's today.

Seriously, I guess a bunch of students didn't realize it either. Two of our student workers were reminded by my cow orker, and they didn't even know they didn't have class today, let alone they wouldn't be working.

Thank you for your support and remembering what today actually means

Thank you veterans!

I know the phrase "Morning in America" gained fame in another political context, but this morning, in Ballard, USA, I was greeted with this sight and I thought of all of you. You have my lasting gratitude.

Yours,

Oooh, did you take that pic BigV? It's stunning!
BigV • Nov 11, 2011 12:40 pm
Yes, that's from this morning from my front porch. There was a gorgeous sunrise, and a little bit of a breeze making my flag come alive. Thank you for the compliment.

Our veteran's benefits office, while not actually PART of our 'office' is connected to our office. Every day I see veterans discussing their education benefits with either M (a wonderful lady with a giant heart and even better attitude) or one of the three she employs, veterans. They all happened to be together on Wednesday so I took that opportunity to thank them. Great people.

Hang on! I thought this was about the men and women who take care of our pets!

Sarge, that is a nice shot of you with those (I presume Iraqi) kids.

Did you tell them you were Jewish?

Many of the Muslims I interacted with on a "friendly basis" knew of my faith. Remember we all worship the God of Abraham, we just disagree on the Messiah. We all recognize the 5 books of Moses

A big Thank You from me, to our Vietnam Vets in particular.

Thank you.
