traveling gnome cellar puppet thread

tomorrow i shall grab a little toy popper from the track. i will take a picture of said toy then send it on it's traveling way. i want this critter to go from houston to austrailia to europe and back to me. here are the rules. someone pm's me. which by the way is already done. then she gets it and takes a pic and posts it. she sends it on to the FIRST pm after she posts her pic and so on. everyone must post a pic. final rule! littlebastard MUST come back to me! lets go!

So we wait for the seond picture this time, or get a chance at every new photo after that.

yeah i suppose so. since me and a friend came up with the idea she wanted to go second. i can respect that. i have my camera with me tonight at the track and selected the official ghoulish popping gnome. he's a blue little critter with horns and a purple nose. will post a pic after by battery charges a bit. went and put him on a kart for the first pic and my battery was too low for shutter release. i have to resize the pic anyway so i'll post it around midnight cdt.

But how will the last person know that they're the last person?

I suggest the gnome gets signed up as a dwellar, so he (she?) can post her own pictures.

A few years back we took our garden gnome, unbeknownst to our children, on vacation with us, ended up in all of our pictures. Great fun.

Apart from Audrey Tautou, the gnome was one of the best things about Amelie.

well due to my schedule with work and all, Gnomey is on a layover here. he's finally addressed and ready to go to Arizona to visit Hair317. she joined just for this extravaganza. be nice. she's a sweetheart. anyway, gnomey went to work with me today. here he is hanging out on my cart checking out tools and BOM's (Bill of Materials). pic #3 making sure the RS-485 communications and panel purge pressure relay sockets are wired correctly and satisfactory then pic #4 inspecting the panel pressure switch and panel fuse terminal blocks. he ships monday for sure.


oh and one more thing Jim, please don't take a pic of your junk hanging out in front of Gnomey with a caption of him saying come to daddy in the NSFW thread or any other thread for that matter! :D :p:

I took Gnomie to the pub, to show him a slice of English life.
We left Skelly-Bob behind, looking up ossuaries on the internet and trying to recognise friends and family.

We shared a Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer.
I found I could barely taste the ginger after the few two mouthfuls.
Gnomie got the hiccups.

We perused the menu.
Gnomie found it quite peculiar that I took photos, but was happy to pose nonetheless.

He tried to suggest I ordered one of the "American style" meals on the menu and seemed especially taken with the Tex Mex Combo. Sadly he didn't win on that scratchcard last night, and as I was paying I made the choice.

So here is my Hell's Chicken Burger.

Side salad separate and I declined the coleslaw, so the plate looks a little spartan.
Gnomie dived in to add a splash of colour.
It was actually quite spicy, but not hot enough for the Gnomes. Perhaps someone else can work out how hot he can take it?

I showed Gnomie where he was headed tomorrow.
I thought by preparing him in advance he'd be less likely to be scared.
It didn't seem to bother him though, he just smiled away.

Tomorrow afternoon he's off to Scotland.

He's going to tour the UK first, but at some point in December/ January it's a free-for-all.

Actually Zips, we agreed Gnomie would have a tour of Europe while he was here.
To keep postage down and ensure faster delivery times.
So he has at least Dani to go in the UK, and any Dwellar registering an interest (I don't remember but there were some). Be-Bop, CZ, Gunmaster etc

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
But it would make sense to do it geographically.

Especially because our Aussie Dwellars are quite active and we'd love to send him on a tour down-under without him having to zigzag back over the many miles it takes to get there.

ETA - any Dwellar with problems affording postage need only PM Philthy, Zip, me or Limey. We can raise postage between us. I believe the same will apply all along the Gnomie chain. We want photos and fun.

I had a bit of a horrid weekend. Went on a downer, and really wasn't in the mood for doing much of anything. Was hoping then to do something this week, but I'm so behind on some work that has to be sorted out this week, that I really just have to get my head down.

The photos will be taken. They will be posted. They will be soon. I am not sure exatcly when,. but it's going to be soon. I am enlisting some help from J to make sure that Gnomey has a lot of fun. Right now he is lazing in the livingroom, sitting on the mantlepiece, keeping guard of my coffee cup and wondering who the handsome dog is in the photograph. (Gnomey that is....J wouldn't fit on the mantlepiece....and he knows who the dog is.)

awww, no sweat hun, JUST HURRY UP! (you know i was kidding there!) i don't have gnomey now but i'm just as busy. my bid package for this west texas project just got moved up a day and tomorrow is a half day for me. overtime pay is an issue on this job so i can't go over 40 but yet am still expected to pound 70 hours in a 40 hour bag. well at least i expect myself to. no worries dear. i was just checking in on the little fella.

Update on Gnomey:

Most of the pics are on J's camera as mine is being such a pain. We need to go through them and put them into order and then I'll post them here.

But just to let you know about his adventures with us:

He has not only visited me in Northowram, he has also visited Hebden Bridge and accompanied us on our trip to Guernsey, so we can add Mancherter Airport and the Channel Islands (on a propellor plane!!!!!) to his list.

har! yes he is.

He's had a lengthy stay and a bit of a rest (hibernating for a couple of weeks). But his visit was jampacked with activity so no wonder he was flaked out.

There will be pics soon. They need collating from three different cameras :p His stay covered a spell in Halifax, some time in Hebden and a trip to Guernsey via Manchester.

He was most insistent that we get some decent pics of the airport and the plane we travelled in. It was a propellor plane, because Guernsey airport is too ickle for a standard passenger plane. This, he insisted on, on account of Philthy's love of planes.

Today excursion for Ratso and Gnomey.

Since I use Camaret-Sur-Mer as a place to guess in the "Where is this?" thread, they asked to visit.

Chapel and tower from the port, another view from the jetty, inside of the chapel (tower was closed). Models hanging from the ceiling are ex-votos made and offered by sailors.

Brest isn't a very beautiful city as, like Le Havre or Lorient, it was utterly destroyed during WWII.

Still in Camaret-Sur-Mer, but another place. Some menhirs for a change. As far as I know, Brittany has the highest concentration of megaliths in the world, especially around the Morbihan Gulf.

Gnomey arrived at my place with a clockwork skellington who decided he liked Scotland, so Ratso (who is Russian, by the way) set off to keep Gnomey company ... I think it's up to you, Ratso, and Gnomey who travels onwards.

Gnomey arrived at my place with Skelly-Bob, so I passed him on to Limey with a clockwise skellington so he didn't get lonely.

As Limes say, it's up to you whether he travels accompanied or solo.
