Orda Cave is the most extended underwater cave in Russia, the second in Eurasia, with regards to length, and the world’s greatest gypsum cave.

Oh that's marvellous!

I must send a link to Our Kid. He used to be a caver/potholer/diver. He'll love this!

Then one day decided he wanted to go on living?

Interesting that there seems to be little silt to blow around.

Also strange to see almost no bubbles but those don't look like re-breathers.

Beautiful.

Cave-diving is dangerous. You need to follow every safety rule ever invented. An ex-cousin-in-law got cocky once and could've died.

I'd love to do it though. With many ropes.

when I was a kid I thought caves were cool, and I remember visiting a lava cave and squirming through tight spots and stuff and loving it. Now caves freak me out. I'll go through a touristy one with sidewalks in it, but the idea of squeezing through a tight gap hundreds of feet underground just gives me the heebs. Throw water into the mix and NO WAY. I bet statistically speaking, it's safer to jump out of a perfectly functional plane, which is another thing I'm not doing.

I've done that too. ;)

The problem with that cave is there are no cave spiders.

I'd settle for lots and lots of air.

Dangerous? Nah.
It's just SCUBA. When you get in trouble, you just drop your weights and ......

Just think of it as a tight, wet hole. That works for me. :-)

When I read the title I immediately thought of Orddu (from the Chronicles of Prydain).
I'm not sure which is more terrifying - being underwater in a flooded cave or an ever changing witch with an appetite for flesh and memories.

Oh, yeah. The cave.

Good IoTD though x
