Board Stretcher:
Trilby • Oct 7, 2011 11:40 am
I thought that was outlawed by the Geneva Convention??
BigV • Oct 7, 2011 11:46 am
cute!

I like how it's necked down in the middle. But I'm not sure how the geartrain/cam system works. Nice one!
footfootfoot • Oct 7, 2011 11:50 am
The lever rotates a cam that presses on the frame. The finger grabs a tooth to keep the board under tension.
BigV • Oct 7, 2011 11:54 am
ooohhhhhhhh.... dur.

(wait, not odor, ohhh dur, just... ah. not exactly understanding, but relief and pleasure at the warm sensation of the prospect of illumination bathing my upturned face.)

(wait, that's not the golden stream, is it? ew.)

I've got a bunch of those. Paid about 30% more than a right-handed screw driver. I screw like a champ now.

Aw shit, can you send him back? I need the keys to the drop zone. While he's there tell him to stop by range control and have em turn on the range fans, blow off some of that fog.

Really? You never heard of the Tucker?
Lamplighter • Sep 12, 2012 10:00 am
The Torpedo was before his time...
xoxoxoBruce • Sep 12, 2012 12:54 pm
Torpedo? Yeah, I know the Tucker was long before his time but a couple years back (whoops, it was 1988:o) Coppola made a movie about it staring Jeff Bridges. There was a shitload of articles about Tucker, before and after the release.
glatt • Sep 12, 2012 1:34 pm
That's the only reason I know of Tucker.
fargon • Sep 12, 2012 2:23 pm
My childhood friend Rocky Tucker, is Preston Tucker's grandson.
Gravdigr • Sep 12, 2012 3:36 pm
I have never heard of the 1971 Tucker anydamnthing, Tornado, Toronado, or otherwise, and neither have you.
BigV • Sep 12, 2012 4:13 pm
I know the things I'm seeing in this video don't exist, have never existed. Yet I see them here.

That's cause there never was one. Never even made it to the drawing board, except as a alternative universe creative exercise kind of thing just a little while ago.

What would happen if Tucker hadn't been run out of town and he was still around making cars in the 70s?
Happy Monkey • Sep 12, 2012 4:17 pm
There's a series of kids' books out that uses that effect.

I had a book when I was a kid that used a less dramatic form of the same effect, to make water flow or smoke billow.

I got Swing! for school. Tiger was ambivalent, but some of my other SEN childer reacted with great enthusiasm.
