Are you a 10?
on a 1-10 scale, how attractive/beautiful/handsome do you feel you are? I generally feel somewhere around the "well I'm lucky not to have a major deformity" 2 level, but tonight, for an unknown reason, I suddenly kinda felt better about how I look. Maybe I'm just headed up out of the doldrums i've been in recently....
of course it's anon. And I won't vote until several others have. it's not about how gorgeous you are, but how gorgeous you feel you are.

I'm sitting at around a 3 right now :p I don't have any extra fingers, and nothing nasty is growing out of my face.
[eta] Actually, I'm going to revise that: sitting here right now, in my dressing gown having had a bit of a sleepless night, I feel a 3. Once I get my act together and get dressed, sort my hair out etc etc, I'll probably feel around 5.
Being honest. I'm a 4 due to body weight & disfigurements.
I guess about a 5, but I'm not sure I really buy the attractiveness scale thing. Many super-models look truly hideous in the light of day. There is often some intangible that makes a person very attractive to another that others completely miss.

This is one of the things I refuse to try to form an opinion about. I don't think that is good for a person.

I'm happy with my appearance. Probably because I'm in a good relationship. I didn't always feel that way. I've got this big dorky thing going on, but I'm aging pretty well.
But from a mathematical standpoint, what does a 10 even mean? Are you comparing yourself to the entire population? Or just to others your age? Is it a percentile thing, so if you go into, let's say, Walmart, and look around, are you better looking than 9 out of the 10 people in there? If that's the case, I think I'd be close to a 10. But if I'm comparing myself to the other guys my age at the pool, I'm more like a 4. Take me into a nursing home, and I'm a 10 compared to the residents.

It varies.
I clean up nice, and that can raise my stock for city settings. I'm generally more comfortable with less fastidiousness, like the result of working outdoors all day, or camping. That sense of satisfaction and confidence reveals an inner light that shines through the grime. How attractive do I feel? Just as a mirror reflects my image, the reactions of others informs me about my image. Different people focus on different aspects of me. I feel very attractive--a 10--when my girlfriend tells me (and shows me) how appealing she finds me. It's very gratifying and I'm (slowly) surrendering my urge to question her judgement (and eyesight).
When I don't have these optical or social mirrors to "tell me" how I look, I judge myself on other criteria. In general, I like my own company, but that attractiveness has little to do with my external appearance

Well, the way I see this poll is that it's asking how do we FEEL about ourselves. It's not how we compare ourselves to others around us, it's not how we think people judge us, it's not how our looks are compared to a certain article in a beauty magazine. As Monster said, "it's not how gorgeous you are, but how gorgeous you feel you are." So, to me, it's actually a poll on our self-esteem. Nothing is wrong with that, right?
Well if that's the case I must be off the charts. There's no negative choices though, so I couldn't vote.
