I could hardly believe my ears...
there I was laying in bed this morning, half awake when I distinctly heard the local DJ use a four letter word...

SNOW.

yep, can you imagine the shock ? ( "snow above 1800 m." )

For you Americans out there...

( 1800 meters = 5900 feet )

Bleh. Snow. Need tire, need four. Road snow make real slow, plus dent, bump. Can't move. Snow suck.

*L*... nice one monkey.

p.s.. I guess up in the high alps they got some snow last night but nothing in our area ( ok, our area but up at elevation ... we are only at about 300-400 meters here )

The 'rents scare-mongering paper had a headline today, "Britain Faces An Early Big Freeze". This means no snow until at least next year, if at all, because they always ALWAYS get the weather wrong.

Earlier this year they were predicting the hottest summer on record and old people and dogs dying where they stood, pavements melting, standpipes in the street, brimstone in the gutters and something about a giant Twinkie. Well, almost.

They like to vary their headlines. Cancer, Diana, Immigrants, Public Sector Pay (too high, and crippling real workers), Pensions and Mortgages. And of course hysterical weather predictions where the rest of the article is buried on page nine and admits it's just a random guess.

Still, I did walk home singing "Let It Snow". Just in case.

Stop that! Stop tempting fate on the snow!

I do not want to be grounded in Northowram in December, ya hear me sis?

Aren't you in the French-speaking part? Snow is not a four-letter word in French.

I was thinking the same thing but couldn't be bothered to look up snow in French. German is Schnee, which looks like 6 letters to me.

yes I am in the french speaking part and Sundae is correct with "neige" but as I listen to the local English speaking radio station snow comes out sounding strangely like snow.

Well then, no need to worry. As Sundae pointed out, English predictions are invariably wrong.....
