no quarter asked, none given

What is, for you, not on the table for compromise, no matter the circumstance or cost?

Interpret the question as you will.
Rhianne • Aug 30, 2011 9:53 am
Nothing.

Led Zeppelin Covers. Not even by bands I like. You just can't improve perfection, so don't try.

I'm with Rhianne.
Nothing.
Everything is open to discussion if the situation is extreme enough.

If someone touched my child in an inappropriate way I can't imagine any circumstance where I'd be able to compromise with that.

Hurt my dog and I will hurt you.

...actually, seriously, that probably is my redline. The thing absolutely not on the table at all, ever, is getting rid of the dog. If I was in a job that required me to travel and it became difficult to keep my dog, I'd give up the job. When me and J split up and I was looking for a place of my own whilst staying at Mum's, it took two years to find a place, because I absolutely had to have a place that allowed dogs.

When Pilau eventually shuffles off this mortal coil. I'll get another dog. And the same redline will apply. I have to have a dog in my life. It's a fundamental part of who I am.

What is an 'extreme enough' circumstance?
BigV • Sep 22, 2011 10:15 am
are you fomenting class warfare young man?
DanaC • Sep 22, 2011 10:16 am
Write out 100 times:

*shows up with plastic cup*

Hey, I heard there was some fermenting going on here.

Anyway, I have no idea what I could be capable of in extreme circumstances. I could be amazed at my resolve, or I could fold like a cheap suit. I hope I don't have to find out...but wouldn't it be a bit interesting to have your mettle tested?

Then I'd have a whole new reason to hate myself: insufficient mettle, to go along with my limited gumption.
footfootfoot • Sep 22, 2011 6:28 pm
You would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for that mettle-ing insufficiency.
