A bomb blast has struck a United Nations building in the Nigerian capital Abuja, causing a number of fatalities, reports say.

That would seem to be an indicator of crazy.

The UN is a soft target. Rarely guarded like they should be.

Well, obviously, he's a Swiss guy, so he's a banker, so he must be helping transfer that money that I'm helping that internet guy with.

I work for the UN -- I could have had colleagues in that blast ( not likely nut possible )!!!

But possible

for what it's worth... mrs. and I had a nice quiet weekend in England afterall...
if you don't count the numerous frantic calls back to the states for "Irene" updates and calls back here ( Geneva ) for bomb-blast updates....
...
very happy to report everyone I know in both locations is safe ( if a bit soggy ) in fact I didn't personally know anyone killed / injured in Nigeria but a close friend who works tele-comms was there about two months ago

still tho we hate to hear when anyone in the "UN-family" falls into harms way.
