Its not too bad actually - $40 for one. I would love to surprise my family with one of those.
infinite monkey • Aug 19, 2011 1:58 pm
Yikes.

I wonder if you can buy anything in regular old stores, with regular old cash, anymore.
monster • Aug 19, 2011 2:00 pm
$40 $75 for two. I found $30 on one site....

One or two of those for the next party at the brothers (they have a big new barn that would be the perfect space.)

OMG we are going to have a blast. Too bad all the girls' birthdays already passed this summer.
Pico and ME • Aug 19, 2011 2:08 pm
It looks like Toys r Us sells them in their stores.
infinite monkey • Aug 19, 2011 2:11 pm
Thanks Pico! :)

Way back when I was married (WAY back when) I bought my husband a remote control UFO. Similar to this. I had it filled at a party shop.

We had a group of friends that crashed our house almost nightly. Damn thing nearly drove me crazy by the time Christmas & New Year were done! Well, I say that, I loved having a full house, and especially cooking for my friends. Sob.

OMG.

I imagine they would be very sensitive to changes in air pressure and temperature. I wonder if they have removable ballast or something to compensate.

I also wonder if they would still fly with a fricken laser on their heads.

Ooooh, thanks for reminding me. My nieces' birthdays are May, June, and July. I wonder if you can buy other than online?
monster • May 7, 2012 8:45 am
Yeah, your post office would return the buggers after mangling them.......

One of our parts guys had a shark flying around the showroom one night. pretty slick.
infinite monkey • May 7, 2012 11:26 am

My stepson got one for his last birthday. They're fairly entertaining, though not as real looking as in the videos. It's clearly a mylar balloon, but it's cool to swim it around the room nonetheless. It's worth noting that they lose helium over time, they'll have to do a partial refill at least every 2-3 weeks. It's imperative to give a small helium tank along with it (you can get one for about $20 at any party store.)

OMG must have

Airshark (which I loved from that Doctor Who Christmas episode).

My friend's kids would love these. I'll have to tuck the idea away for next birthdays.

If only it could knock at the door ... Candygram.
