Hot daym - gold is over 1700 dollars an ounce and I just made some bux at my local jewelry store.

silver - meh, not so much, but I got waaaay more than I figured I would for a few pieces I no longer wear.

CASH in! Now!

There was a lady in line selling dental gold. I don't wanna know about that.:yelsick:

Gold is a classic example of a bubble right now. Unless, of course, it's not.

Damn, I wish I had a crystal ball.

I found my wedding band the other day. It's pretty heavy...

yesh. Methinks a bubble.

The second law of thermodynamics pretty much ensures that it won't last.

The guy who's deck I'm building buys gold for a living. He's doing quite well. quite.

If any locals want to go somewhere you can trust, I'll help you out. He says it's a good time to invest in silver, actually. He is just keeping the silver he buys for now, expecting it to jump soon....it has barely moved, and it's got to if gold is going up up up.

How much did you actually get per ounce?

Sometimes I dream that the world is reversed
I dream that accountants are rarer than poets
That things'll get better if they can't get any worse
That a rich man has nothing but dirt in his purse

Gold is the lowliest of metals
Too soft for serious use
It's pretty of course, and warm to the touch
But no longer alluring when you've handled so much
The lowliest of metals

:) Let's just say that I DIDN"T get 1700.00!

but I was happy with what I did get - I need the money more than I need the earrings. I sort of felt like a gyspy in that respect.

A storm came thru about a month ago and blew down a bunch of trees and now I need a new roof - as in a complete tear down and re-place.
Insurance is covering about half of the expense.
