Happy Lughnasadh.

Do you make corn dollies?
infinite monkey • Aug 1, 2011 2:15 pm
They scare me!

Well, obviously!

That's an IRISH corn dolly! They scare everyone!

Bairn of the Corn?

(But that's scottish, right? Still couldn't resist the yoke.)

There wolf, there castle ...

Yes, I do make corn dollies, but not terribly consistently. I missed on them this year, for example.

It's been busy.

Thanks for the Lughnassadh or however the heck it's spelled greetings. That's why I usually call it Lammas. ;)

What I've always wanted to make are Brigid's Crosses, but I tend to be short on wheat stalks and have never done it.

Brigid is my confirmation name.
As I got older I liked the ambivalence.

It's never too late! you've got all of August coz the corn went in so late due to all the rain.

I know you've been playing nurse advocate for your friend - but if you have some time, make a dolly! It'll be good!
